Presentation at Chemnitz University of Technology's TUCtag 2025

On May 10, 2025, Chemnitz University of Technology invited visitors to TUCtag - a combination of various events such as the “Open Day” and the “Long Night of Science”. From 2 p.m. to 10 p.m., visitors were able to discover and explore current research topics for themselves.
In Hall S, the Department of Lightweight Structures and Polymer Technology (SLK) presented a variety of hands-on stations relating to modern lightweight construction technologies. Highlights included 2-component injection molding with cup production, a glass extruder, 3D printing of toy figures, water jet cutting of bottle openers and a test course with the recyclable mocci e-bike. Children were able to construct their own bridges at a bridge building station and test their models.
A central element was the presentation of the DFG-funded Transregio TRR 402 “Intelligent Production Technologies for Lightweight Polymer Structures with Load-Dedicated 3D Grading of the Reinforcement Architecture – DediGrad”. The Transregio was presented to a wide public with a vivid poster - with the aim of generating enthusiasm for sustainable lightweight construction technologies and attracting young talent to research.
